RAF Odiham Families Day

The RAF Odiham Families Day is an annual event, open to families of serving RAF staff. It an opportunity for serving staff to show their families what takes place at the base.

Havant 2327 Squadron were invited along to assist with the organisation of the day. Our main task was to assist with fencing and crowd control, particularly in the areas where moving aircraft were operating.

During our breaks, we had the opportunity to enjoy all the military stalls, the free Boeing items, the free lunch, the military wives choir singing and the fun fair rides. There were static aircraft, military and civilian, as well as old bikes and cars and even a Dalek on display. But while we worked hard, we also got to watch all the flying displays and the RAF parachute display team.

It was a fantastic day, and a privilege to help out.

WO Karen Mattingly.
