Windermere Adventure Training Camp

Tags: Adventure Training

Camp Windermere is an adventure training camp located in the Lake District designed to give cadets an introduction to a range of outdoor activities. The activities that were included ranged from Cycling to Kayaking. I attended the camp from the 17th to the 24th of August 2013 and used it for the Residential section of my Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award. Camp Windermere differs from most other ATC (Air Training Corps) camps held within the Wing. This is because it is much more relaxed, discipline is still enforced, as is rank but there is no uniform for the entire week which leads to a far more social atmosphere.
